FAQ

Here, you will find some of Frequently Asked Questions (FAQ) for our stages. And if you do not find the answers you expect, please kindly contact us for further details. Questions are as below:

1.    How can we select the proper stage for our applications?

2.    What is recommended operating environment for manual positioner?

3.    Is it possible to use stages in a vacuum environment?

4.    Can the precision stages be used upside down/overhung mount?

5.    Is it possible to combing linear stage, rotation stage and vertical positioner into a XY, XZ, XYZ or any other multi-axis stage?

Q:

1. How can we select the proper stage for our applications?

A:

To a certain extent, it depends on your requirements, and check out the real

providing from the us. Please note below and they will be helpful in this.

When choosing a manual positioning stage, be sure to consider the travel range, also named stroke, requirements, the load to be positioned, the accuracy requirement and the size of the positioner.

Q:

2. What is recommended operating environment for manual positioner?

A:

Most of our positioners are normally using in the indoor environment.

The recommended operating environment is as following:
- Temperature: 10
- 50,
- Humidity: 20 - 70%.

And the precision as we indicated will be guaranteed if product is used in environment with:
- Temperature: 22±5
,
- Humidity: 20
- 70%.

Q:

3. Is it possible to use stages in a vacuum environment?

A:

Sorry! It is unavailable to use our stages in any vacuum environment. Please note.

Q:

4. Can the precision stages be used upside down/overhung mount?

A:

[Linear stages with crossed-roller bearing guide in X or XY direction]

The load condition on guide is almost the same as when stages are used in horizontal position. We have had the old experience for using X or XY stages upside down. And some of our customers are using the stages upside down with good performance.

However, the values indicated in our website are obtained when stages located in horizontal position. These values are not guaranteed if stages are used in upside down position. And the accuracy, loading, lift time and smoothness will be reduced greatly in upside down.

Therefore, please let us know when you have any specific requirements.

[Z direction by using our cross roller bearing stages]

It is possible to use Z stages in upside down position. However, please note that the load is subject to the extend force by spring.

[Dovetail stages]

We cannot guarantee the performance of stages if mounted in upside down, although it is possible to some extent to use dovetail stages in this position.

And its operation and movement tend to be less smooth, because of the different slide-support surfaces of dovetail structure in that position.

[Vertical Positioner & Rotation Stage]

Not Applicable!

These stages cannot be used in upside-down position. The weight and the load on vertical positioner will move down the stage table, and at the same time stage compression springs will extend in the same direction.

And the structure of rotation stage is not suitable for the position in upside-down.

Q:

5. Is it possible to combine stages into an XY, XZ or XYZ systems?

A:

Yes, it is possible.

Any stages with the same platform size can be combined into XY tables, because they have the same mounting holes in correct position between the lower and upper plate.

As for the Z axis, we will provide different two solutions:
Firstly, Right Angle Bracket will be used on XZ and XYZ systems in the amount of the platform size from 40 x 40 mm, 60 x 60 mm, 90 x 90 mm and
dovetail stages.

Secondly, it is available to use our standard vertical translation stage to get the movement in Z direction. In this way, the position of mounting holes on lower plate of vertical stages must be matched the tapped holes of the other upper plate.
